Zhongshan Day Tour
Zhongshan is formerly known as Heungshan. In 1925, to commemorate the death of Sun Yat-sen, a great forerunner of China's democratic revolution, Heungshan was renamed as Zhongshan. Begin the journey from your Guangzhou downtown hotel at 10 am, drive to Zhongshan (about 1.5 hours).
Itinerary of Zhongshan Day Tour
First, we will arrive at the Sun Yat-sen's Former Residence Memorial Hall, it is ongoing around the theme of "Sun Yat-sen and his social environment in the early years of his teenage". The historical and folklore exhibition halls reproduce the social and historical environment of Sun Yat-sen's birth and early age.
Then we will drive to the farm-style restaurant and enjoy the delicate Cantonese style Clay Pot Rice Bowl & Roast Pigeon as lunch, with a bunch of Chinese charcuterie (cured pork belly, Chinese sausage, dried shrimps, etc), whip up a quick sauce, and stir it all together with fresh green onion. you get those slightly crispy bits of rice at the bottom of the pot.
After lunch, we will visit is a soy sauce factory. In the factory, we can learn how soy sauce was discovered, as well as the soy sauce history, both the traditional & modern process of manufacturing soy sauce. We will see the factory production line. At the end of the tour through the factory, we will come to a tasting area, the specially-made soy egg & the soy sauce ice cream are a must-try. At the end of the tour, you will go through a shop in the factory where you can buy all sorts of soy sauce for less than half the price you will pay in supermarkets.
The last place we will visit a Chinese Bazaar, this Bazaar has a long history, it set up in the South Song Dynasty (1127-1279), it has moved to several places but never closed. It moved to the present location in the 1990s. There is almost everything can be found here at a bargaining local price (not a tourist price). Clothes, general merchandise, flowers, birds, insects, fishes, fruits, herbs, hardware, furniture, Chinese wares and more miscellaneous, etc. are all available in this Bazaar, the list is endless, you cannot find everything, but you will see things you haven't seen elsewhere. Several Chinese-style eating and snacking can be found in here too, if you tired and hungry after a long walk around the market, you can happily throw yourself inside any food stall to enjoy the mouth-watering foods.
This Zhongshan day tour is only available on the Bazaar Day of the 3rd, 6th, 9th of every month according to Chinese lunar calendar. Please make inquiries before booking. During the rainy season, this market can be turned into a hell. There are not much covered space around the stalls and there are no other place to hide you during the rain. To keep your tour cost low, we have not included food in the tour price, they are usually very reasonable, so that you have more option according to your needs and budget. Please cover our expenditure in the tour (meals and drink). However, these will be minimal. We will send you a PayPal invoice, you will have the option to use your credit cards or deposit card to complete the payment process (even if you are not a PayPal account holder). Note: A 4.7%~5.79% Paypal transaction fees will be charged on the total amount of the transaction when deposit is made by Paypal. Once payment is made, the booking of your Zhongshan Day Tour is confirmed. The remaining balance is payable in cash only on tour day with us, you can pay in either U.S. Dollar or Chinese Yuan, whatever is convenient for you. We prefer U.S. Dollars without any damage and stain, otherwise please provide Chinese Yuan.
