Qingyuan Nature Tour
Qingyuan Day Tour from Guangzhou | Gulong Gorge & Caves
Planning a Qingyuan nature day tour from Guangzhou? This private one-day route combines three of the region’s most searched natural attractions: Gulong Gorge for the Cloud Sky Glass Bridge, waterfalls and QQ Flying Car; Jinlong Cave Underground River for a cool cave and floating-walkway experience; and Dongtian Fairyland, also searched as Dongtian Xianjing, Cave Wonderland, Cave Fairland or Chuantian Rock.
Qingyuan lies north of Guangzhou and is known for a large mountainous landscape. Dongtian Fairyland is in Yingde, a county-level city administered by Qingyuan. The day is designed around karst caves, sinkholes, underground waterways, forested gorges, waterfalls and elevated glass viewpoints formed or shaped over long geological periods.
This is a private transport and trip-coordination service, not an in-park lecture tour. Your English-speaking guide-driver plans the route, manages time, assists with on-site ticket purchase and communication, and takes you to a local restaurant. Inside the three clearly marked scenic areas, you visit independently so everyone can preserve energy for a long but realistic day.
Qingyuan Nature Day Tour at a Glance
Why Choose This Three-Attraction Route?
Most Qingyuan tours sold on large booking platforms combine only one or two attractions. This route is designed for travelers who specifically want Gulong Gorge, an underground river cave and Dongtian Fairyland in one day, without adding unrelated shopping stops or rafting.
If you only want to visit Gulong Gorge, a hotel-arranged vehicle or Didi may be more economical. The value of this itinerary is the careful coordination of three separate scenic areas, the driving between them, a realistic lunch stop, help with Chinese-language ticketing and a firm return schedule to Guangzhou.
These are visual natural attractions rather than museums or historic monuments. Their internal routes are clearly marked, and much of the commentary offered at caves consists of imaginative names for rock shapes. We prefer not to invent stories. Instead, we focus on the practical work that matters: safe transportation, efficient routing, ticket assistance, timing, communication and a good local meal.
You are not paying for a guide to follow you through obvious walking routes. You are paying for a private vehicle, a long-distance guide-driver, full-day scheduling, local coordination and the ability to complete three dispersed attractions safely within one day.
Recommended Qingyuan One-Day Itinerary
The schedule below is deliberately precise. It keeps Gulong Gorge to the most popular non-rafting combination, allows a 50-minute lunch and limits the two caves to their core boat-and-cave experiences. Starting late, adding rafting or taking the full Dongtian Fairyland walking route would make a same-day return unreliable.
| Time | Plan |
|---|---|
| 08:30 | Depart from a downtown Guangzhou hotel. Airport or transit-hotel pickup can normally begin after 8:30 am. |
| 09:40 | Arrive at the Gulong Gorge parking area. The guide-driver parks the vehicle and assists with ticket purchase. |
| 09:50–11:50 | Gulong Gorge: Cloud Sky Glass Bridge / glass viewpoints, waterfall route and QQ Flying Car. Rafting is not included in this itinerary. |
| 11:50 | Depart for a local countryside restaurant near the next attraction. Approximate driving time: 50 minutes. |
| 12:40–13:30 | Local lunch: 50 minutes at a countryside restaurant serving regional home-style dishes. |
| 13:30 | Depart for Jinlong Cave Underground River. |
| 13:40–14:40 | Jinlong Cave Underground River: approximately 60 minutes for the cave route and the floating walkway across the former underground-river section. |
| 14:40 | Depart for Dongtian Fairyland. Approximate driving time: 30 minutes. |
| 15:10–16:20 | Dongtian Fairyland: approximately 70 minutes in total, including a one-way boat ride of about 15 minutes, free exploration inside the scenic area and the walk out. The extended walking loop and optional amusement rides are not part of this route. |
| 16:20 | Depart for Guangzhou. Approximate return drive to a downtown Guangzhou hotel: 2 hours 10 minutes. |
| 18:30 | Estimated arrival at your downtown Guangzhou hotel. |
Times are planning targets, not guarantees. Road traffic, attraction queues, weather, temporary ride closures and individual walking pace can change the return time.
Estimated Attraction Ticket Budget
The figures below help you understand the likely adult ticket cost for the projects used in this itinerary. Prices can change according to public holidays, crowd-control measures, the current package and the purchase channel.
| Attraction | Projects used in this route | Published price | Typical weekday estimate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gulong Gorge | Cloud Sky Glass Bridge + Canyon Flying Car package, already including the waterfall cluster; no rafting. | RMB 476 | About RMB 193 when purchased on-site on an ordinary weekday. The attraction may change the price during holidays to manage visitor numbers. |
| Jinlong Cave Underground River | Adult admission for the cave route and floating walkway across the former underground-river section. | RMB 98 | We may be able to help purchase it for about RMB 68. |
| Dongtian Fairyland | Adult admission plus a one-way boat ride, followed by free exploration and the walk out of the scenic area. | RMB 86 + RMB 25 boat | There is usually little discount, at most about RMB 8. To save time, we normally recommend buying at the ticket window. |
| Typical adult total on an ordinary weekday | About RMB 372 | ||
We do not guarantee that discounted prices will always be available. The final amount depends on the date, current package, visitor-control policy and the actual purchase channel. For conservative budgeting, the published-price total for all listed projects is RMB 685 per adult.
The Three Main Natural Attractions
1. Gulong Gorge: Skywalk Glass Bridge, Waterfalls and QQ Flying Car
Gulong Gorge, also written online as Gu Long Xia, is the most internationally searched stop on this route. Its modern scenic complex is known for elevated glass walkways and platforms, forested canyon views, waterfalls, rafting and amusement-style cliff rides.
This itinerary uses a focused two-hour combination: the Cloud Sky Glass Bridge / Gulong Gorge Skywalk Glass Bridge, waterfall viewpoints and the QQ Flying Car. It does not include rafting. Adding rafting changes the timing, clothing requirements, safety planning and return schedule, so it should be booked as a different itinerary.
2. Lunch at a Local Countryside Restaurant
After Gulong Gorge, drive approximately 50 minutes toward the cave area and stop at a local countryside restaurant. The restaurant is selected for practical parking, quick service and regional home-style food rather than an international-tourist menu.
Travelers pay for their own food and drinks. If you eat fast food independently inside Gulong Gorge, you do not need to pay any additional guide meal charge. If you choose to have lunch at a local countryside restaurant with the guide, please include the guide’s meal in the group’s lunch bill.
3. Jinlong Cave Underground River

Jinlong Cave Underground River is also searched as Qingyuan Jinlong Cave, Jinlong Cave underground tour and Guangzhou underground river cave tour. Since September 2025, the scenic area has been renovated and the former underground-river boating project of more than 600 metres has been discontinued. A floating walkway now allows visitors to walk through the former underground-river area before continuing through illuminated chambers with stalactites, stalagmites and water-shaped limestone formations.
The cave environment is naturally cooler than the outdoor summer temperature, making it a useful contrast after the exposed glass viewpoints and walking at Gulong Gorge. The route is primarily visual and follows the attraction’s fixed floating-walkway and cave sequence.
4. Dongtian Fairyland: Cave Wonderland and Chuantian Rock
Dongtian Fairyland is located near Jiulong Town in Yingde and appears under several English names: Dongtian Xianjing, Cave Wonderland, Cave Fairland, Fairyland Cave and Chuantian Rock. These names describe the same general scenic area and should not be confused with a cave in Guangzhou city.
The landscape combines a karst cave, natural openings or sinkhole-like spaces, water, vegetation, cliffs and a waterfall. For this three-stop itinerary, the visit is limited to approximately 70 minutes in total: about 15 minutes on the one-way boat, followed by free exploration and the walk out of the scenic area. The full walking circuit, glass rides, zip lines, magic-carpet rides and other optional activities are excluded because they would delay the return to Guangzhou.
Optional Two-Day Extension to a Yao Minority Village
Dongtian Fairyland is the northernmost stop on this Qingyuan route and is less than two hours by road from the area used for our Yao Minority Village Tour.
Travelers who want to continue north can stay overnight in the Qingyuan region and take the Yao village itinerary on the second day. The second-day program can include the local village environment, Yao culture, countryside scenery and, when the date matches, the local market. You would return to Guangzhou on the second evening. This must be arranged as a separate two-day booking because accommodation, the second-day vehicle and the additional guiding time are not included in the one-day Qingyuan price.
Guangzhou Airport Layover Option
This Qingyuan route can be used as a Guangzhou layover nature tour when pickup begins after 8:30 am from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport or a nearby airline transit hotel. Flight numbers, arrival time, departure time, terminal, immigration requirements and baggage arrangements must be checked before the tour is confirmed.
Qingyuan’s attractions and central Guangzhou sightseeing are in different directions from the airport. After completing this nature route, we recommend returning to the airport or your transit hotel rather than driving into downtown Guangzhou for more sightseeing and then returning to the airport again.
A long-haul passenger may already be short of sleep. Combining airport arrival, Qingyuan and downtown Guangzhou can create a 16–18-hour sightseeing day. We do not arrange that. Outdoor working time is limited to a maximum of 12 hours for the safety of both travelers and staff.
Airport pickup does not automatically mean the itinerary fits every connection. Please provide the complete flight schedule before booking so a realistic airport-return time can be calculated.
Private Group Prices from Guangzhou
All prices below are for the entire private group, not per person. The route, standard duration and inclusions remain the same.
Attraction tickets are separate from the private group price. Any discounted ticket estimate is provided for planning only and cannot be guaranteed in advance.
| Vehicle | Group size | Private group price | Staffing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Compact Car | 1–3 participants | USD $360 | The guide is also the driver. |
| Sedan or SUV | 3–4 participants | USD $450 | The guide is also the driver. |
| 9-Seater Vehicle | 5–7 participants | USD $600 | English-speaking guide plus professional driver and vehicle. |
For three participants, the compact car is the lower-priced option when everyone is comfortable with the available space. Choose the sedan or SUV when you prefer more passenger room and a more relaxed long-distance drive.

Important Walking, Weather and Safety Notes
- Walking and steps: Gulong Gorge requires the most physical effort. Wear supportive non-slip shoes and travel light.
- Fear of heights: The main Gulong Gorge experience uses elevated glass viewpoints and is not suitable for everyone with a serious fear of heights.
- Rain and temporary closures: Strong rain, thunderstorms, flooding, maintenance or crowd-control measures can close glass attractions, rides or cave routes.
- Weekends: This three-stop schedule depends on efficient entry and road conditions, so weekends and Chinese public holidays are not recommended.
- Mobility: The route is not recommended for travelers who cannot manage stairs, uneven surfaces and prolonged walking without assistance.
- Final decision: The route may be shortened, reordered or cancelled when weather or safety conditions make the original plan unsuitable.
FAQ: Qingyuan, Gulong Gorge and Cave Tours
Can Gulong Gorge, Jinlong Cave and Dongtian Fairyland be visited in one day?
Yes, on a weekday with an early departure and a tightly controlled itinerary. Gulong Gorge is limited to the non-rafting glass-bridge, waterfall and QQ Flying Car combination; Jinlong Cave is limited to about one hour; and Dongtian Fairyland is limited to approximately 70 minutes in total, including a one-way boat ride of about 15 minutes, free exploration and the walk out.
Is rafting included at Gulong Gorge?
No. This route does not include rafting. Rafting requires a different ticket package, more changing and preparation time, and a different schedule.
Does the guide enter Gulong Gorge and the caves with us?
No. The scenic areas have fixed routes and signs. The guide-driver assists with arrival, parking, ticket purchase, communication and timing, then remains outside while you visit independently.
Is this a guided tour or a private transfer?
It is a private day-trip coordination service with an English-speaking guide-driver, not a simple one-way transfer. It includes full-day private transportation, route planning, ticket assistance, timing management, local restaurant arrangements and communication support, while the attraction visits are self-guided.
Can the tour start from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport?
Yes, pickup can normally begin after 8:30 am from the airport or a nearby transit hotel. The complete flight schedule must be reviewed before confirmation, and returning to the airport or transit hotel is more realistic than adding downtown Guangzhou sightseeing.
Can this Qingyuan tour start from Shenzhen?
No. This itinerary does not support Shenzhen departure because the driving distance and working time would make the three-stop schedule too long and less safe.
Are Dongtian Fairyland, Dongtian Xianjing, Cave Wonderland and Cave Fairland the same place?
They are commonly used English names for the Dongtian Xianjing / Cave Wonderland scenic area near Jiulong Town in Yingde. Chuantian Rock and Fairyland Cave may also appear in English search results.
Are attraction tickets included?
No. Attraction tickets are paid separately. The Gulong Gorge package has a published price of RMB 476 and is often about RMB 193 on an ordinary weekday; Jinlong Cave is RMB 98 and may be available for about RMB 68; Dongtian Fairyland is RMB 86 plus RMB 25 for the one-way boat. We do not guarantee discounted prices, and the final amount depends on the date and actual purchase conditions.
What is the best day to visit Gulong Gorge and the caves?
Monday to Friday is the most comfortable choice. Weekends and public holidays can create long queues, traffic delays and attraction crowding that make a three-stop day unreliable.
What time does the tour return to Guangzhou?
The planning target is approximately 6:30 pm at your downtown Guangzhou hotel after an 8:30 am departure. The actual return depends on traffic, queues, weather and walking pace.
Do we need to pay for the guide’s lunch?
If you eat fast food independently inside Gulong Gorge, there is no additional guide meal charge. If you choose a local countryside restaurant and the guide eats with the group, please include the guide’s meal in the lunch bill.
