Guangzhou Culture Park

Guangzhou Culture Park | Thirteen-Trades Monopoly | Chrysanthemum Exhibition

Guangzhou Culture Park is a perfect place to hold an exhibition, to do sports and even to appreciate the landscaping, about 100 million people come here to visit the park every year. Guangzhou Culture Park was the former Qing Dynasty’s concession to the European and American trade zone, know as the Thirteen-Trades Monopoly.

In 1951 the Guangzhou municipal government organized the “South China Local Specialties Exhibition and Interchange Conference”, to solve the shortage of resources, and promote the sales of goods. After the conference, under the instructions of Guangzhou mayor Ye Jianying, the decision was made that the exhibition site was to be retained. Its name was then changed to the Guangzhou Culture Park in 1956. Since 1959, Culture Park has held a free chrysanthemum exhibition every November. In 2016 the Guangzhou Thirteen Hongs Museum was launched within the park, with a large amount of precious historical literature to show the illustrious history of Thirteen-Trades Monopoly.

The Culture Park completes all kinds of facilities for movies, Chinese folk art forms, billiards and so on. Literature Center Stage, which was built in 1951, is a place for grand variety performance. Furthermore, some professional or even amateur literary and artistic groups perform on the stage. Inside the park is an ancient style complex consisting of city walls, a courtyard, houses, palaces, and gardens. The complex is named Han Town because everything in it, from the wagons, clothes and written characters to the sculptures and furniture, is modeled in the fashion of the Han Dynasty as it was more than 2,000 years ago.

Here are the special activities following:
